Jennifer Laughlin

Jennifer oversees the application of social and environmental safeguards and incorporation of sustainable development impacts in UNDP’s Carbon Markets; and Climate & Forests portfolios. She has more than 15 years of experience supporting developing countries to assess and manage social and environmental risks associated with national and subnational climate and forest programs. She co-led in the design, establishment, and rollout of the UNDP’s Social and Environmental Standards (SES), Stakeholder Response Mechanism (SRM) and Social and Environmental Compliance Unit (SECU), established in 2015. She continues to coordinate the SRM. She has a MPhil from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) in Philadelphia.
